Whilst Tempelhof may be the setting for Bread and Butter and the Brandenburg Tor the spot for the high end glitz of the upmarket brands, there are other parts of the city showcasing design for all tastes.

The early months of the New Year may seem like prime time for Berlin hibernation, but it’s just the season for us at Miniloft to make the most of the city’s cultural highlights. Fashion in Berlin has been a slow build, with the city often languishing below London, Paris and Milan. In recent years though, Berlin’s presence on the global style stage has been subject to it’s very own makeover. The bi-annual Mercedes Benz Fashion week is Berlin’s acknowledgement to high end and high concept design. But haute couture & up-and-coming ateliers are not the only ones represented in Berlin’s twice-yearly fashion and design extravaganza.

Get ready to dive in: In June 2012, over 160 artists and other participants from around the world present their works all over the city of Kassel, including sculpture, performance, installation, research and archiving, painting, photography, film, curatorial, text-based and audio works as well as other experiments in the fields of aesthetics, art, politics, literature, science, and ecology.
