Hebbel am Ufer / Oedipus Rex
Thursday, March 4, 2010
The intendant of Hebbel am Ufer, one of the most exciting theatre and musical venues in town, famously has an aversion to "art shit"; preferring instead "reality shit"; - an attitude that has helped propel his theatre into experimental terrain far removed from the world of traditional drama.

Monday, February 15, 2010

Miniloft is surrounded by an ever-growing number of galleries and art hot spots - the newest crop lies slightly hidden just north of the main train station, behind the large museum for contemporary art, Hamburger Bahnhof.
Boros Collection
Tuesday, November 3, 2009
There's a massive WWII bunker a few blocks away from the Miinlofts. Tresor club is legendary. First opened in 1991, it was the city's first and best techno club. Forced out of its Potsdamer Platz location in 2005, it reopened two years later in a giant former power plant.
C/O Berlin
Wednesday, June 3, 2009
For photography buffs, C/O Berlin is the place to go. It’s housed in the former “Royal Post” office, a beautiful cupola-ed yellow brick building, and since its founding in 2000 has been presenting the work of renowned and upcoming photographers.
Temporäre Kunsthalle: Shadowbox
Thursday, April 9, 2009
The great incongruous “white cube” at Schlossplatz (now sky blue with digitalized clouds, by Austrian artist Gerwald Rockenschaub) is not a whimsical freighter container: it’s the Temporäre Kunsthalle, a temporary space for contemporary art.
Haus der Kulturen der Welt: Pictopia
Thursday, April 2, 2009
An exhibition at the spaceship-like Haus der Kulturen der Welt (House of World Cultures) embraces the new explosion of graphically pared-down yet bright-eyed pictograms that has spread across digital media, advertising, fashion and art.
