Stand off at Checkpoint Charlie
Martedì 9 Giugno 2015
It’s all hands to deck at Miniloft behind the scenes, as we are working on a new development over in Kreuzberg. Our new place is near Checkpoint Charlie, a fascinating spot that once you look past the tourist trappings, is actually one of the most significant sites in Berlin from the 20th Century. Because it was here that the Cold War nearly...Nuovi Itinerari di Miniloft in bicicletta!

Mitte’s reputation for being the fancier centre of Berlin’s rough-round-the-edges charm is perhaps deserved – but that doesn’t mean the whole area is all airs and graces. Take Larry Bar, where it’s possible to party in a fuss free and thoroughly down to earth way. Opened in 2013, Larry’s is the kind of bar where simple reigns supreme....Kunstfabrik Schlot

A Berlin institution since the fall of the wall, Kunstfabrik Schlot is more than just a great location - it’s also one of Berlin’s best loved jazz bars. That said, the address of Kunstfabrik Schlot is also a big bonus for Miniloft guests, lying a shot walk from us in the Edison-Höfe.

There is no end of restaurants to sate your appetite in Mitte, but Vino e Basilico is near the top of our list for great Italian food. Set up in 2014 by Ligurians Alessandro, Daniele and Simone, the Liguria region is renowned for it’s olive oil, pesto and seafood, which form the basis of the ever-changing Vino e Basilico menu.
Karneval Der Kulturen
Martedì 12 Maggio 2015
Fine weather in Berlin means one thing – a return to living life out on the streets. And no event in the city is more street worthy than the Karneval der Kulturen. Berlin’s answer to Notting Hill Carnival in London, the annual parade, which happens around late May is one of Berlin’s biggest and brightest highlights.
Berlin’s Places of Worship
Martedì 21 Aprile 2015
There’s a common perception in the press that the majority of young Berliners worship at the temple of techno, but that belies a truly multi-cultural mish mash of faiths within the city. In fact, Berlin boasts over 100 active religious communities in Berlin, which means you’ll find plenty of places where faith is an important part of daily...Friedel Richter
Martedì 21 Aprile 2015
That Torstrassehas garnered a reputation as one of the most up and coming places to eat in Berlin is pretty old news – plenty of new Mitte institutions have sprung up along the admittedly mammoth thoroughfare for a little while now. And you can definitely add Friedel Richter to the ever-growing list. Friedel Richter is one of the restaurants...Menschenmuseum at Alexanderplatz

Gunther von Hagen’s Body Worlds has traversed the globe several times over, a curious travelling cabinet of the Professor’s plasticized bodies and anatomical parts. It’s slightly odd, endlessly fascinating, a little bit notorious and definitely compelling – so perhaps no surprise that this travelling biological circus has found a permanent home in Berlin.
