Public transport in Berlin
dinsdag 9 september 2014
When it comes to getting around Berlin, you’re pretty much spoilt for choice. Be it subway, train, bus, tram (and even ferry if you happen to be in the right area), your transport options are myriad and with a 24 hour timetable, they are also able to keep you moving across land and water, most times of the day. It’s a system that many Berliners harbour much secret pride for, airport issues aside.
Weinbar Rutz
woensdag 3 september 2014
Michelin star dining just round the corner from Miniloft anyone? We mentioned Weinbar Rutz a little while back on the blog, but it’s time to dedicate more space to what has been described as possibly “the most unassuming Michelin star restaurant in the world”.

The Water Playground at Nordbahnhof
woensdag 20 augustus 2014
In the summer there is no end of water-based fun in Berlin. From the Badeschiff to the lakes that punctuate the outer rim of the city, to the numerous Sommerbäde (lidos) that open their doors, splash time is pretty abundant in the city. You may be forgiven for thinking with such a variety of water activities, why need more, but then we’d point you in the direction of the recently opened Plansche (water playground), round the corner from Miniloft at Nordbahnhof as proof that there is no such thing as too much water.

Berlin: Before and After the Wall
vrijdag 1 augustus 2014
We’re lucky enough to live in a city that is in the midst of exciting change – but the thing we love about Berlin is that the past is never that far away, and walking through the city can easily change based on the history you take round with you. A few weeks ago, a guest at Miniloft brought us some photos of the last time she was in Berlin. It was a long time ago in fact, before the wall came down.
Schwules Museum
vrijdag 1 augustus 2014
As anyone who has been to a Berlin Christopher Street Day Parade will testify, this city is pretty much as tolerant as you can get. From the openly gay mayor, Klaus Wowerweit, to famous sons and daughters throughout the years, Berlin – particularly the Berlin of today – sees individual sexual preference as something to be rightly celebrated.
Tin Tan Mexican Street Food
vrijdag 18 juli 2014
Street food is not a new concept to this fair city Miniloft calls home – with Berlin still in the throes of a street food renaissance thanks to numerous pop-ups and regular meetups, including Bite Club and the weekly Street Food Thursdays at the Markthalle Neun in Kreuzberg.

We profiled Creative Sustainability Tours a little while ago on the Miniloft Blog – a super thoughtful and intelligent tour company that offer some great behind the scenes peeks into Berlin life.
