As an intensive and self-critical investigation of the Nationalgalerie - Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, this collection of predominantly of Western orientation asks its visitors: what could the collection look like today, and would a global understanding have shaped both its concept of art and its genesis? How would the canon and the art-historical narrative itself have changed? What challenges does a global perspective pose for the future of a museum collection? These thought-provoking questions arise as the exhibition unfolds through ten thematic chapters, organized as a polyphonic collaboration between internal and external curators. This allows for the exhibition to focus on moments of transnational artistic exchange and trans-cultural ties, moving from the 19th century to the present day. "Hello World" covers the entire exhibition area of the Hamburger Bahnhof.
