Los restaurantes de fusión euro-asiática aumentan de forma alarmante en Berlín, y todos parecen servir los mismos platos, pero Dudu definitivamente destaca por encima de todos. Allí sirven sushi de gran calidad, deliciosa sopa pho, y los populares roas beef y ensalada de papaya.

Bar 25 was forced to close its hedonistic gates back in September, but the party lives on, in part. Their neighbors down the river, Radialsystem, are hosting Bar 25's restaurant until the end of February.

The Berlinale 2011 begins in one month. January is basically hibernation time in Berlin - I've noticed that our present guests here at Minilofts have borrowed some DVDs and are cosying up in their apartments. (But in a way it's also a great month to visit Berlin - no lines at the Pergamon Museum or the Reichstag, long, relaxed dinners in warm candle-lit restaurants, Metropolis accompanied by a live orchestra... and the parties are more wild cause once everyone gets there, they stay.)

Dare I say I'm looking forward to February? Berlin does its best to cheer everybody up in that short dark month, perhaps as a reward for getting through January. Not only do we have the public-friendly Berlinale, an international film festival where normal people can actually get tickets - there's also Transmediale and Club Transmediale to further brighten our days and nights.

The new VOO Concept Store opened last month in Berlin Kreuzberg, a gigantic 300 square meter retail space featuring a nice mix of high-end and more affordable brands, from classic with an alternative, progressive edge, to street wear and high fashion, from known to unknown names.

Muret la Barba brings great joy: a simple, autenthic, delicious Italian restaurant and wine bar near the Miniloft apartments, with a huge wine selection, most of which can also be ordered by the glass.

For a different kind of Berlin Christmas market and a one-stop Christmas shopping extravaganza, head to Holy Shit Shopping. At this 'Christmas Shopping Lounge,' over 150 designers, artists and craftspeople sell their wares in the HBC gallery and Gallery Hopping, with DJs and snacks to boot.
