David Bowie Exhibition, Berlin
'Montag, d
If you’ve been in Berlin in the last few weeks – or indeed, if you’ve been round the Miniloft office in the last few weeks – at some point, you may have encountered some advertisement, some conversation, some article about the newly opened ‘David Bowie’ exhibition. Like Christopher Isherwood in the 1930’s, for expats, Bowie is one of Berlin’s most famous adopted sons, and the ‘David Bowie’ exhibition offers a fascinating glimpse into an iconic career, including one of Bowie’s most creative periods, coincidentally occurring in 1970’s Berlin.

'Montag, d
Berlin is a photographer’s paradise – the sheer variety in architecture, city textures and those surprising wide open spaces that seem to pop out of nowhere offer plenty of fodder for your Flickr account. And then there are the places that are specially created with photographers in mind. And so we present the OM-D: Photography playground, a kind of pop exhibition come advertisement come photography wonderland made possible through Olympus.
Garmin Velothon
'Montag, d
Berlin is a city that – as many people will tell you – is best experienced by bike. The city is relatively flat, spacious and full of sites that can be taken in via two wheels, making Berlin perfect biking fodder. So it’s no surprise that the Garmin Velothon – a mammoth race round Berlin’s centre and southerly regions, has grown to become Europe’s second largest cycle race, with some 13,000 cyclists of various ages and abilities getting on their bike every May.

The Smart Deli team have a been a staple of Berlin for over ten years, opening their first location in Friedrichshain in 2002 and moving to Mitte in 2012. Over that time, they have carved out a solid reputation for themselves as purveyors of delicious, nutritious and all round good food.
Getting Romantic in Berlin
'Montag, d

The Dong Xuan Center
'Freitag, d
There are many reasons to take a quick trip east and head to the Dong Xuan Centre. A cavernous complex formed from a series of hangars, the Dong Xuan Center, located in Lichtenberg is Berlin’s largest Asian Supermarket. But it’s also a treasure box of wholesale wares that range from the sublime to the incredibly plastic (a smell that will definitely waft past your nose whilst walking around), a place to buy some aromatic and soothing Pho – a clear and fragrant soup with beef and noodles – to nourish you in between all the wandering around.
Transport update for Miniloft Guests!
'Freitag, d
Anyone who is visiting Miniloft, and indeed, the area around Miniloft, will surely have noticed the huge amount of work-in-progress to finally connect Nordbahnhof and Hauptbahnhof.
Café Bondi
'Dienstag, d
The effects of the various nationalities that comprise Berlin can be seen everywhere. Be it the Vietnamese Dong Xuan Center market or the amazing NY influence in the pastrami at Mogg & Melzer, it’s pretty clear that more = merrier when it comes to the international influence on Berlin’s food and drink. We’ve noticed a strong correlation between cracking coffee and Australia, which is why Café Bondi is the pick this week.
