They say first impressions can be deceiving – and you could be fooled by the harsh concrete door at Bar Tausend. But once you ring the bell and make your way through the somewhat brutal entrance, you’ll find one of Berlin’s hidden gems. The Cantina at Bar Tausend, located in Mitte, a short amble along the Spree from Friedrichstraße, is a fusion restaurant, located in the Tausend bar and club, that successfully combines a melting pot of flavours into rather delicious dinners.
The cuisine is Asian-Ibero-American. Apply the same logic as you would to that concrete door, and remember that appearances can be deceptive – it’s delicious. The Cantina is regularly packed, with good reason – the food is great, there are wines suitable for most wallets and most importantly, behind that cold, façade, the Cantina in der Bar Tausend is actually boasts a warm, eclectic and fun atmosphere that couldn’t be more welcoming.
