Berlin may well be a landlocked state, but that is not to say we’re running low on water around these parts. Whether it’s the Spree or the numerous canals or the many periphery lakes, you’ll still find plenty of the stuff in the city. But our advice is to head up north from Miniloft, where you’ll find one of our favourite all-year-round lakes, Tegeler See.

It's a glorious weekend for the Berlin Marathon, folks, the sun is shining in a bright blue sky, and the weather for Sunday should be around 25 degrees... OK, it'll be perfect conditions for the spectators, the runners would perhaps prefer a some cloud cover and chill.

Tiergarten, Berlin’s most lovely (and gigantic) park, is just a stone’s throw along off-street paths from the Minilofts. Britta and Matthew go jogging (Britta) and rollerskiing (Matthew) there almost every morning, Designed as a hunting ground in the 1830s and deforested as a source of firewood after WWII, today the park is back to its original beauty.
