We profiled Creative Sustainability a little while ago on the Miniloft Blog – a super thoughtful and intelligent tour company that offer some great behind the scenes peeks into Berlin life. Whether it’s urban gardening (something that we’ve been sharing a lot of links on recently - here, here and here), housing cooperatives or other cultural projects, the tours are fantastic for showcasing some of Berlin’s... well, Berlinness.
And so we were really excited to see that Creative Sustainability have added a new tour to their mix, this time focused on accessibility in the city. It’s a tour for understanding those with limited mobility, with your guide taking you around with a range of mobility aids, be it pushchairs, walkers, crutches or wheelchairs. The tour guides you around places where accessibility works, and crucially, where it doesn’t, giving anyone that goes on the tour an exceptionally useful exercise in empathy. Allowing you to experience the city through someone else’s eyes is no mean feat – and for those keen to open up their perspectives, it’s definitely worth a try.
