Tresor club is legendary. First opened in 1991, it was the city's first and best techno club. Forced out of its Potsdamer Platz location in 2005, it reopened two years later in a giant former power plant. Now you can see Tresor in a whole new light, as contemporary dancers Vivienne Newport Company react to and transform the energy of the club's raw basement into dance theatre, with their piece "fragments of a time still passing". In the incredible concrete space, built in 1961 in the former GDR, Newport creates time-traveling theatre incarnating the building's realities into moving images - its functional, electric history is a relic of the socialist past, removed from yet inherently connected to its present-day incarnation as temple of electronic music. Totally Berlin.
