The enthusiastic Monbijou Theater ensemble has played in the park of the same name on the Spree in Berlin's historical centre for the last 15 years. In the summer months the 450 seat amphitheatre comes in to its own. Audiences laugh, cry and above all enjoy themselves in the openair. With Interpretations of Shakespeare, Molière and Goldoni, the company has travelled the Europe’s theatre world, only to come home to the german romantics: Goethe and Schiller.

After the plays you can retire to the beach bar, watch the sun going down over the Bode Museum, the pleasure boats gliding past or strut your stuff on the dance floor.

The winter programme features fairy tale classics by the Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Andersen for children and adults in three rustic wooden huts. Each hut, with its rustic charm, wooden benches and simple traditional catering has seats for 100 people. The Monbijou Theater, which has born that name since 2013 was founded under the name Hexenkessel or Witches Cauldron Theatre in an occupied house in Schönhauser Allee. The group of actors established themselves in the site in Monbijou Park in 1999.
