Every February, the Messe Berlin prepares the ITB Berlin. This year and for the first time, the ITB will be also a platform for the segment of medical tourism, which has become an important fast-growing market. Medical service providers, hotels and destinations will be able to exhibit their products and services In the Medical Tourism Pavilion.
Visit Berlin will also present their "Berlin Medical Tourism Guide" where you can find Miniloft, as we are just 5 minutes walking from Charité, one of the most renowned hospitals in Germany.
The Charité was founded in 1710 by King Frederick I of Prussia in anticipation for the arrival of the bubonic plague to Berlin, the Charité has been there to see Berlin develop ever since. In its 300 year history it has housed numerous great scientists including Rudolf Virchow, who spent his time there developing his cell theory. It also boasts many Nobel Prize winning alumni.
Today the Charité is one of the world’s leading hospitals for heart transplantation, rheumatology and even space medicine. Political leaders and dignitaries from all over the world are flown in to be treated at the Charité because of its reputation.
Due to our location, we have some guests related to this hospital, not only friends and family of patients (who by the way, in certain situations do not need to pay the City Tax), but also students and worker of the big complex. If you have to stay for a long period of time due to medical or work reasons related to Charité, do not hesitate to ask us for a personal offer!
