The great incongruous “white cube” at Schlossplatz (now sky blue with digitalized clouds, by Austrian artist Gerwald Rockenschaub) is not a whimsical freighter container: it’s the Temporäre Kunsthalle, a temporary space for contemporary art. A new exhibition by German artist Katharina Grosse opens tonight: “shadowbox” consists of four oversized, concave ellipses of hyperactive color, spray-painted works by an artist characterized by her anarchic impulses.
